Children who struggle to read, spell or write very often can’t see the text clearly.  For them the text may well be blurred, moving, merged into one long word or otherwise distorted. This is a huge barrier!

 

How can a child read, spell or write easily when looking at text is like looking at it in a funfair mirror? UNLOCK Learning stops this happening!

Struggling readers, spellers and writers process text in a way which is ineffective, slow and frustrating. UNLOCK Learning teaches children how to process text in the most effective way leading to rapid and highly significant improvements in literacy and therefore the wider curriculum. 

 

UNLOCK Learning combines a blend of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Louise’s 20 years of teaching experience and her own highly successful techniques from years of research in this area.

This is not a scheme! UNLOCK Learning will:

 

  • Determine exactly HOW the pupil ‘sees’ text and change this where necessary so that the text is stable and stays that way.

BREAK-THROUGH DYSLEXIA

FOR SCHOOLS - HOW IT WORKS

 

THE PROGRAMME IS A FULL AND COMPLETE PROGRAMME OF

 2 FULL DAYS TEACHING, TRAINING & FOLLOW UP MATERIALS

 

FOR UP TO 6 CHILDREN & UP TO 6 MEMBERS OF STAFF

 

The programme comes complete with a further 5 additional training modules in form of Training Manuals and resources which can be put into practice at School by staff at times when it is most convenient for them to do so.

 

OPTION A 

 

  • Day 1 - A one to one session with Louise Barnes for up to 6 children and up to 6 Teaching Assistants

This entire day of individual sessions with up to 6 children and their Teaching Assistants can be arranged at your School on a day that is most conventient for your Teachers and pupils - the day combines : 

 

A one to one session with each pupil (approx. 6 pupils can be seen in one day) with Louise. The staff member, who is most likely to be working with that child, should be present so that Louise can explain and demonstrate the process, its outcomes and how the child should be supported.

 

Louise will ensure that the staff member has enough training to support the child fully in the techniques appropriate for them.

 

A full report for each child will be sent after the session including details of follow up (a maximum of 10 minutes per day) exercises.

 

  • Day 2 - Another one to one session follow up session with Louise Barnes for up to 6 children and up to 6 Teaching Assistants

 

This 2nd full day of teaching and training is carried out with each pupil (and staff member) ensuring rapid pupil progression.  It also provides the opportunities to raise questions and ensure that training is thoroughly understood and has been put in pratice following day 1.  This complete full day can also be arranged to suit staff and pupils alike on a day which is most convenient for your School.

 

The 5 additonal modules which all pupils on the programme should complete allows the children the opportunity to participate in fun activities designed to strengthen and improve the new processing skills whilst continuing and reinforcing staff training.  

 

The modules also recommend that staff set challenges and provide rewards through the additonal modules in order to ensure children remain engaged and complete the course in full in order to maximise their individual improvements.

 

  • Each pupil will be able to move forward at his or her own pace within the programme.

 

  • Each member of staff will be able to fit this into their existing teaching programme at a time that suits them best.

 

By participating in the programme staff will not only be giving invaluable support to individual pupils but also learning new skills and techniques which they will be able to use with other pupils in the school.

 

The UNLOCK Learning Programme is a one off course which does not require further investment (unless you wish to train even more members of staff at which point you will only require additional training and not further course materials). The materials are yours to copy for your own use, to benefit as many children as you wish and belongs to your School to keep forever.

 

2 FULL DAYS TEACHING & TRAINING

OPTION B

 

     2 x days 1:1 (with one of our Trainers_

     1 x full day TA training for up to 6 TAs.

      Skype/ email support for the year, for those 6 pupils. 

     

Cost £ 2747

 

 

Additional time as required for  TA support meetings with Louise or additional time with pupils can be booked at a rate of £350 per full morning.

 

£250 for an afternoon 

or £500 for a full day.
